After enduring years of malfunctioning products, Wile E. Coyote teams up with a local personal injury attorney to take on ACME, the manufacturer of anything and everything used by the Looney Tunes characters.

Need a movie to kick you right in the nostalgia feels? Then if you’ve ever seen a Loony Tunes cartoon, you should enjoy the warm embrace of Coyote vs. Acme, a mixed animation and live-action romp that was famously shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav for a tax write off but was finally allowed to see the light of day thanks to distributor Ketchup Entertainment.

Will Forte is Kevin Avery, a not-so-slick lawyer that pursues the easy settlement of a case over actually working in court. When his niece Paige (Lana Condor) an intern at his firm, pushes him to represent Wile E. Coyote against the big conglomerate Acme, maker of all those gadgets continually exploding in his face, Kevin is pulled into a complex web of discovery and ever-unfolding mystery.

John Cena is Buddy Crane, the bad guy here, who runs Acme, working for the owner Foghorn Leghorn. And yeah, pretty much all the characters make an appearance. From fan-favorites like Bugs and Daffy, to quick appearances from Granny and Elmer Fudd. While the movie does pull at the nostalgia strings, it’s also a meta commentary on perseverance and bravery in the face of adversity. It’s great it was able to see the light of day. It was also fun to see Peter Lorre here after just rewatching Casablanca.

Really, it’s the best movie based on a New Yorker article you’ll see all year. The tongue-in-cheek lawsuit story was written by Ian Frazier all the way back in 1990, which was the inspiration for this film.
