The Legacy Cinema Club was born from a simple idea: that the shared experience of watching a movie on the big screen is the best way to enjoy it.
We’ve all felt it- the infectious laughter of a packed theater during a comedy, or the collective cheers as heroes assemble on-screen. The loud gasps when a plot twist catches you completely by surprise.
This is for those who crave that kind of connection and want to put their phones away and get swept up in the visuals, sound, and story of a big screen adventure.

HOW IT WORKS:
It’s easy. Message us to join our WhatsApp. Our calendar is updated on this very website, a few weeks out. We mostly see movies on Mondays and the bulk of our group are AMC A-Listers so we gravitate towards one of those theaters, predominantly Century City or the Grove. Mondays are usually the regular weekly day, but we will sometimes see new releases on Thursdays and Fridays, the day they come out. And often we have revival screenings on the weekends. These can take place anywhere, but the Academy Theater has been a favorite.
On Tuesdays, the WhatsApp will confirm showtimes and gauge interest. If you’re an A-Lister and we’re connected, I’ll even secure tickets with our group. Otherwise we can let you know where our seats are if you want to get tickets on your own. We usually meet a few minutes beforehand to grab snacks and catch trailers (though some of us skip those and make it to the seats right before Nicole Kidman starts talking about heartbreak).
After the movie, we gather in the lobby for those that want to debrief on what they just saw. Sometimes, we’ll grab a drink, particularly if the movie is divisive or provokes a lot of discussion (see: Maggie Gylenhaal’s The Bride).
On this website we will post the trailers of upcoming movies on the schedule and our member-written reviews if you want to know how we really felt.
And that’s it. We don’t expect attendance every week. Some faces we see more than others. And we might even break off into a smaller group for other movies during the week but there’s only usually one official LCC showing per week. For some of the blockbusters we may try to snag tickets further out, but that’s a case by case basis.
Only thing we expect is that anyone as part of our group is a decent audience member. This means no phones. No disrupting people around you. Don’t throw candy. Don’t make a loud joke to try and get a laugh if the movie isn’t doing it for you.
